Reviews of Clare Island Ferry Company Ltd
"Great service for getting to and from the beautiful Clare Island"
"What a truly wonderful experience it is to take a trip to Clare Island with this ferry service, booking is essential but once this is done, you will turn up safe in the knowledge that your place is secure. Your space and that of your bicycle, should you wish to take one is guaranteed (As long as you book in advance). The staff and whole experience is wonderful, with a chatty and informative crew member present on deck throughout the trip. I paid 25 euros return for my trip (well worth it I felt) as a single individual but there may be group rates available, it is worth enquiring. The trip took approx. 45 minutes and I for one loved every second of it. Try to get a spot for yourself behind the perspex shelter, it minimises the chances of getting soaked and you can still take everything in. I must point out that I took this ferry from Kildavnit Pier so my review is based on this. For me it meant a lot not to have to travel to Roonagh Pier however as I said it suited me really well as Achill was my base. I cannot recommend this ferry enough, and if like me you love the sea, this is a perfect experience."
"Very friendly, helpful crew and really reasonable prices. We brought 4 bikes which was no hassle. Pleasant crossing and lovely day exploring the island and enjoying its blue flag beach."
"Great and affordable service. I’m not a lover of boats but the crew were very friendly and helpful both on embarking and disembarking. We were lucky with beautiful weather for a smooth crossing and fabulous sights of the Irish landscape. Prompt departures and a nice short trip to and from Clare Island!"
"A really nice trip but not happy that the wearing of masks was not enforced even though it says that you must wear one . One lady ( whom I moved away from did not wear her mask but put it on when boarding and disembarking - was clearly evident to the boat staff as she put it on in front of him to Pass him. Three others were sitting in front of me and were told by members of their group to look around at the dolphins - I asked that they sit back down as they were within a few inches of me ( face to face ) and not wearing masks - I shouldn’t have to police this / the staff should state that a roving patrol will occur and mention the fine for non- compliance . I attempted to express my feedback privately via e- mail but couldn’t find an e- mail so was left with no alternative but to post this ."
