Reviews of Granuaile Loop Walk
"Fantastic walk with incredible views and scenery. We completed it in about 2.5 hours and wouldn’t say it was strenuous, but it does have a fair few ascents and descents and can get windy on the Atlantic side, so take a layer. Great picnic spots too."
"Wow an amazing walk with beautiful views starts and finishes at Pattens Bar Takes about 2 1/2 hours Quite steep in places. Well marked route with benches to rest and take in the scenery. You can see Crough Patrick, Clare Island, Achill sound and Atlantic drive. Definitely recommend"
"Awesome walk. Great views. We only had 90 minutes to do a walk so walked 45” on outbound section and then walked back . Different stunning views in each direction. Heads up - excellent location of picnic table about 35” in with 180 views… wish we had brought a picnic!"
"A wonderful walk in beautiful scenery. The terrain is quite varied - consisting of an old mining track, narrow footpaths and bog track. Some places are quite wet, so proper walking boots are advised. Dress for all weather, as conditions can change due to it's Atlantic coastal location. Map and compass is not required as the route is exceptionally well waymarked. The walk should be taken in a clockwise direction to take advantage of the wonderful coastal scenery. The last 1km of the walk is over bog land and some care is required. Look out for sharks and whales, depending on the time of year you visit."
"A lovely walk with great views, walking boots are recommended as it is soft and wet under foot in places picnic tables are doted around the walk and is also well sign posted with waymarked allow 2.5 till 3 hours to complete."
