"Great place to walk, wonderful views. At low tide you can walk or drive to the island. I recommend taking a lunch break to admire the beautiful nature around. Magda"
"A little secret well hidden known mostly by word of mouth from the locals. To make the most you have to plan your day according to the tide times. Make it to the island for a walking trek to have some stunning views or drive around at your own risk. A very small road on the island but be careful not to be tempted to drive beyond the strand as there is a high risk of getting your tires stuck in the dry sand. Yes the dry areas that seem safe are the catch. Tried and tested but will get back there in an instant."
"A really special place. We were lucky to arrive during low tide so we could head over to Omey Island."
"Amazing island discovery, it can only be accessed at low tides, so best check out the times available. Really nice walk on the island, along with stunning ocean views."
"Gorgeous trek on low tide towards the old church grounds and ruins. Be sure to check out the tides timings. We were lucky enough to immediately park on site (free) and trek till the end. You could see some of the other visitors driving all the way (marked pathway across the sandy dunes) and parking on the other side. When we were done, we had to hurry as we could see the tide rising up from the ocean and the water level creeps up if you're not careful. Clean and beautiful sand dunes, with kelp/algae patches and markings done by crabs/fish as well as the waves on the sandy dunes. Albeit trodden with tyre marks, dog paws and footprints now. Worth the trek and wait if you're there."
