I got the keys for the car to have a look but the car didn't work at all couldn't even open it. Been told it is probably battery. Not great experience."

"Very poor and unprofessional service. I rang and made an appointment to view a car as I was travelling from Dublin. I had other business planned in Athlone so used the opportunity to make the most of it and view a car. I also highlighted on the phone that there may be a second car or interest that I may wish to view. I arrived a week later as arranged and viewed the second car that I had mentioned on the call. The sales rep took my car for a spin as this would be considered in a trade in. When I enquired about the car I had arranged to view I was told "its out the back, I'll get it for you now". A few mins later the sales rep returned and apologised and said the car was gone to Dublin to have its wheels done as they were scuffed. He said he didn't know anything about it and offered to have it brought to Dublin for me to view. How unprofessional is it to make an appointment and when you get there the car is not there and didn't know when it will return. To add to the matter I was told by the sales rep that he would go away and do his figures and contact me with a price for trade in and talk about the car that wasn't there on appointment but guess what..... 10 days later I'm still waiting for that email or call."

"THE most negative car purchase experience I have ever had to date. Bar none! When the car you buy from Colm Quinn Autostore is faulty, and boy was our red 161 Evoque faulty, then you are in for a rollercoaster ride of frustration, anger, broken promises and communication blackouts. We bought the Evoque in February 2022 and in the 9 months we had it, it spent more time in the garage than it did on the road. We did get a replacement car at times, but because our car was in the garage over 30 days in the calendar year of our policy, our insurance company charged us for each further temporary change to our policy. The offer of repair, replace or refund was also not what we expected. Repair didn’t work, as very shortly after the 5 times our car went in for repair, within a short period of time the engine management light would come on. Again. Replacement, according to Colm Quinn would mean US firstly taking a €3600 hit on what we bought the Evoque for and then us putting an extra cash amount down, depending on the car we chose, all in order to purchase a replacement car from his own Colm Quinn Autostore or BMW franchise. Win win for Colm Quinn! Refund, according to Colm Quinn, meant not what we paid for the car but a haggled price which in the end saw us take a €4100 hit. The €4100 hit is very sore on our pockets, but we finally gave in as further dealings with Colm Quinn motors wasn’t worth the stress and anxiety the whole dirty business was causing. So the saying BUYER BEWARE totally applies to buying from Colm Quinn Autostore Athlone. It will be a very distressing experience indeed when it all goes wrong, both financially and mentally."
