Reviews of Arigna Mining Experience
"An amazing tour thanks to our wonderful guide that was a miner in this coal mine for decades. That great man has experienced so much and is so kind that he can tell you plenty of amazing stories from the day he first worked there up to the incredible work made to bring this unique tour experience (I visited many cave but that's the first coal mine I ever visited). The tour is really an immersion to the working conditions of the time in the mind but also the town life and the industrial background. So don't hesitate to question the great guide to get the full experience. Really, truly enjoyed."
"Absolutely terrific experience and Gerry the tour guide was an ex miner and knew his stuff! He was very informative and enthusiastic - always engaging in our group and animated in everything he talked about. Excellent trip and the family tickets were very reasonably priced. I had wanted to do this last year but COVID restrictions were still in place so delighted to do it this time visiting Eire. I have only advised you buy tickets and have a short wait because it's time slots you buy online."
"A really enjoyable visit to the Arigna Mines. Our tour was conducted by Gérard who was full of interesting facts and banter. He was able to talk about his lived experience of working the mine which really added value to the tour. Some terrific photo opportunities both inside and outside of the mine! Well worth a visit! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"Great place to visit. All tour guides were working in the mine when in operation and are very informative. Jimmy was out tour guide and he was very friendly, funny and answered all questions. To see and hear about the conditions they use too work in is unbelievable. Some lovely views from the outside too."
"A truly amazing experience, beginning with Valerie at the front desk. The tour itself is given by a former miner which adds real authenticity to the experience. Gerry was interactive, funny and informative, with great personal experiences to share, and all the staff were very friendly. A real gem of a day out. A lovely cafe to top off the visit. Highly recommend this whole experience."
