The fire alarm went off on 2 occasions waking me up , the owner who appeared to be drunk accused me of smoking in the room which I clearly hadn't , the daughter who seems to be the product of a relationship in Which the parents are very closely related said that I had ? Save your money and go to a proper hotel or guesthouse"

"It was raining heavily and both my hands carried luggage, yet the proprietor stood asking for the payment fee for the B&B be paid there and then in cash only. In the en-suite, the shower had wet toilet paper on the inside handle. The toilet seat was clean but the bowl was not! The sink had two pubic hairs in it. I wrote my initial in the dust on the lamp. There were dried up tea bags in a pot with a broken lid, no milk. I went down stairs to ask for some and the building was empty. The room had a fly infestation, revealed when I opened the Velux window and a cloud of the dead and stunned dropped into the room. In the morning when I went down for breakfast the building was empty again. I rang the proprietor to be told it wasn't provided. This had NOT been explained when I booked OR when he took my money. I was told to "let yourself out and put the key through the letterbox". The proprietor is simply a Chancer. AVOID like the plague!"

"Mary and Kieran are great hosts and very welcoming. The room itself was clean, warm and comfortable. The location is perfect, 10 minutes from Eyre Square and less than 5 minutes from the racecourse. Tasty breakfast included as well. All round great stay, would recommend."

"Stayed here 2 weeks ago with my partner and we were very pleased with the service and accommodation that was given. The owners are lovely people who were very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a double ensuite room which was pleasant, comfortable, clean and kept to a high standard in all aspects. We got a full Irish breakfast in the morning which was very tasty. The location was perfect for what we wanted and the free parking which was very secure was an added bonus. Overall, we couldn't fault the accommodation and we will be back. Thanks Mary and Kieran."

"A lovely friendly welcome & a nice breakfast come morning at the Castle View B&B. The room we got for the night though was terribly disappointing! The mattresses were wafer thin and uncomfortable & the multi-coloured bed linen looked tired & worn! The small 90s portable tv was held up by a trouser belt & only had 3 channels ! The room really needed updating & the beds and linen needed disposing off! Lovely owners but let down by the dismal rooms & dusty surfaces! Unfortunately i would not stay here again!"
