"One of the best meals I’ve had in Ireland! I tried the special of the day: goat cheese stuffed chicken breast with chumped potato and mushroom sauce and it was amazing. Service was good and kind. They have tables outside which get nice sunlight, perfect for a sunny day! Allergens are listed accordingly and that is always helpful and appreciated."
"We visited on Easter Sunday. It was made clear that unless we were ordering food, we could not dawdle to watch sport on TV. Fair enough. We ordered beef stew which my companion declared hot and tasty. Shoulder of lamb arrived on a dollop of mashed potato surrounded by a dark brown shiny liquid which appeared that it might be a gravy, but proved to be a curry-like sauce. Mint sauce was not available and I should have checked first, because it's absence might have rung alarm bells about the curry stuff. Vegetables arrived late and proved to be boiled, unseasoned and lukewarm. The lamb was tasty if a bit grizzly, but to be fair I ate it all, more than can be said for the mash, the bottom half of which was saturated with the sauce, or the veg which except for the nutritional value of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower added nothing to the meal. One dessert (ice cream), a coffee, tea, tap water (just as well when spicy sauce proved a bit too hot) and a Coke and all the above came to) €48. The value of which is undeniable. I did ask about the curry gravy and was asked if I would like it removed, but not seeing how that could be done, I declined. We left feeling full. The place was packed throughout, so it's popular."
"We booked a table for a bank holiday weekend and in fairness I have eaten here several times before and found it good. This time there were 4 of us. Essentially we ordered 3 10oz sirloin steaks at slightly under €30 each and a fish and chips. The fish looked very good and while I had no complaints from my fellow diners I felt that the steaks were a bit tough. I am of the old school and think that if you pay €30 for a main course it should look well and taste even better. This fell short.(see photo) Now two of my guests had dessert, a berry crumble and bread and butter pudding. This was a really nice selection and to my eyes they looked lovely. In conclusion the main course was not great, the staff were great and the place is nice."
"Lovely food. Reasonably priced. Friendly service. Was in the humour for just a seafood chowder and pint of n/a stout. All came to 13 euro. Chowder was delish with two thick slices of homemade wholemeal bread. With pint of stout a great combo for a wet dreary day. Atmosphere in pub was lovely, people chatting ,people browsing mobiles, or people just enjoying eating or drinking. Had to leave after 40 mins unfortunately. Would have liked to stay on."
"Friendly staff, good solid food. Was our first visit to Ireland and found EJ Kings to be a nice place to relax after a long day on the wild Atlantic way. We arrived around 9 and was still able to get dinner. The burgers are big and the fish was great. Wait staff was very polite. Even the manager waited on us. Thanks for a nice night."
