"Had a very good meal celebrating my Dad's 80th,we exceptional service and a warm fire and atmosphere. Would highly recommend."
"Friendly service and food very good"
"We were near by so decided to pop in for a bite to eat. There is some parking out the front but that was full on our arrival but we did manage to get parked just down the street. We went inside and was told to take a seat anywhere. We sat outside to enjoy to sunny weather and they had plenty of parasols for some shade. There seemed to be 2 waitresses working and they were very friendly and chatty which was lovely as you could tell they were very busy. I ordered the Gam Bas Pil Pil for starter and my husband got the seafood Chowder, it took about 45 mins from arrival to actually getting our starters and people that arrived after us got their food the same time as us. Both starters were really tasty. My husband got the fish and chips for mains with a side of onion rings, the sides were very crispy but his fish was nice but the bottom was a bit soggy with grease. I had a portion of bbq chicken wings with chips, my wings were cold but my chips were warm, both tasted good. If your in the area definitely call in, the food is good, great size portions, very nice staff even when ran off their feet in the heat."
"Called here today while passing and decided to have lunch as it was a wonderful sunny day and the outdoor seating area looked very inviting. The bar has very limited parking out front but we managed to get parking across the road. We went in and asked for a table for two and was told take any you like. We sat outside to enjoy the brief Irish summer. Two waitresses were on duty and seemed under pressure but gave service with a smile and great chat. My starter was a lovely seafood chowder with smoked bacon served with brown bread. The wait was worth it (44 mins from arrival to starters) but others got food much quicker that arrived after us. I went for the fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce with a side order of onion rings which was nice. It was tasty and the rings were lovely and crispy and the portion was huge. My only criticism on my meal was the fish was greasy and the batter went soft and my wife’s chicken wings were cold. It’s hard for me to rate as I can’t give 1/2 points. I liked it but wouldn’t say it’s a must visit. The food was tasty and for two starters one main three sides and wings with two shandy’s it came to €65 which is about average these days. If you are in the Clonbur area it’s a nice place to stop and refresh but I wouldn’t recommend you go out of your way to visit."
"Nice place. Nice people. Good food. Low price. We liked the atmosphere, too."
