"Our family have enjoyed two wonderful holidays at Cuach. This is a charming house in a very private setting with gorgeous views over the Twelve Bens to the rear, and a river running through the property. The location is perfect, close to both Clifden and the Mannin beaches. The cottage is very clean, beautifully decorated, a sort of French farmhouse vibe with bunches of dried lavender, gorgeous curtains , armchairs and quality bedlinen. Liam and Marian are very helpful and personable. Cuach cottage is a find, you could say this little gem has soul!"
"Cuach Cottage is absolutely stunning! Set in a quiet spot, with it's own river at the bottom of the garden and incredible views of the mountains - this place really does get you straight into a 'Connemara State of Mind'! Liam and Marian are a delight as hosts - responsive, kind and always willing to help in any way they possibly can. I've stayed here in this beautiful, fully equipped cottage twice now, and will definitely be returning again, as soon as I can!"
"Spent a week in this idyllic cottage. Great location just outside the market town of Clifden with lovely view across the wild Connemara countryside to the Twelve Pins. The cottage is very cosy and well-appointed and we loved the many small interior touches that reflect the country setting."
"Our family of five stumbled on Cuach Cottage in a search for a place to spend a quiet Christmas in Ireland. And we could not have chosen better! The cottage is cozy but spacious at the same time - larger than it appears in photos - and decorated with a special touch that makes it a home rather than a rental. The kitchen was large and well equipped with everything we needed to turn out a full Christmas dinner and countless tea’s with home baked scones. Bedrooms were warm and quaint with great high quality bedding. Even though the winter rains kept us indoors most of the time the garden and knolls and running river outside are out of a dream. We loved sitting there watching the vistas change with the weather and sheep grazing afar. I can only imagine the how idyllic it would be on a spring day. With the cottage tucked in a small hollow, you can quite literally looked over miles and miles of rolling moors to the mountains in the distance without a house in sight. Liam and Marian were super responsive and helpful with everything we needed and also not the least bit intrusive. In short the perfect hosts. As for the area, this was an ideal base to explore dramatically changing landscapes all within an hours drive or less. The Alcock and Brown/Marconi sight are literally a stroll away and was perhaps one of the most impressive site museums we’ve ever visited. On a drizzly windy day we had the entire place to ourselves. Other highlights were a drive to Westport and the incredible views along the fjords. Just south of the cottage, the beaches neat Roundstone were remarkable. As for ammenities, the village of Clifden (a 10 minute drive) had everything we could have needed even while off season. Guys Bar is a must with one of the best meals of our trip with a great staff and warm ambience. The Connemara Hamper was a great little specialty food shop with lovely cheeses, fresh baked goods and local produce. A well stocked Supervalu was perfect for essentials. There is also a butcher although we didn’t have a chance to pop in there. Walsh's Bakery does a lovely tea and Lowrys Pub provided great entertainment for St Stephens. If you are looking for an off-the-beaten-track and authentic Irish experience you can’t beat Cuach Cottage or the surrounding area. We look forward to a return visit! from Rhode Island, USA December, 2019"
"Thank you Liam and Marian for sharing your beautiful cottage, we had a wonderful stay. We especially enjoyed the stunning location. Sitting in the kitchen/studio room admiring the views which changed from hour to hour. The sunrise and sunset were stunning. Walked everyday from the cottage, exploring the many private walks. Our favourite being the Lough Fada walk, and yes we found the ancient Crannog. The cottage was impeccably clean, with comfy beds, fresh linens, towels etc. no skimping here. It is also beautifully decorated with many pretty original pieces and superbly equipped, ( a cook's dream ! ). I will most definitely return, hopefully in September when Clifden's renowned Art's Festival is on. The Booking was trouble free and seamless from beginning to end, with Liam being extremely helpful with regards to our interests and suggestions / recommendations on eateries etc. A most definite 5 Stars to you both, well done Marian and Liam for a truly memorable stay in Cuach Cottage. Kindest Regards, Laura, Co. Wicklow."
