Sheraton Athlone Hotel

"Nice Stay. Cosy and Clean. Good food. Generous rooms. Big beds. The pool area is not bad ... they keep the numbers down for comfort. Dedicated swim lane [20m]. Disappointed in Jacuzzi water temperature (tepid at best). Integrated with a busy shopping mall, which spills over into the hotel somewhat. Overall, it was a nice stay. Would consider returning."

"Very disappointed! The staff at the reception were not helpful at all. The lady handed me my key without even telling me where our room was. The carpet in the room was stained and a large part was soaking wet!! My key wouldn’t work in the door so I returned to the reception area. The receptionist simply wrote down on a piece of paper that the carpet was wet. She offered no apology or any way of cleaning or drying the carpet. She told me my key wasn’t working because obviously I had held it too close to my phone!!! We had a small snack in the bar which was delicious and the staff there were very friendly and helpful. That night the room was so cold I had to put on a jumper over my pyjamas. I turned the “heating” on but it made little difference. There wasn’t event water supplied in the room. There was a sign over the sink in the bathroom that said “drinking water”. If you did fancy drinking water from a bathroom tap there were no glasses supplied. The phone in our bedroom wouldn’t connect to the reception so I had to request a jug of water in the bar and bring it to our room. Breakfast was very nice and served by friendly helpful staff. Overall I would not recommend this hotel!"

"We stayed in the Sheraton Athlone for our wedding anniversary and on arrival we were upgraded to a beautiful court room with champagne and treats. Every member of staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent, location excellent. Highly recommend. Will definitely stay here again."

"I had a lovely 2 night break with my two cousins in the Sheraton this week. Its a lovely hotel in the centre of Athlone . The room was lovely they put an extra bed in so the three of us could share, great bathroom with a walk in shower and a bath. The pool itself is small but the smaller pools with the jets were great and we loved the hot tub. The staff were excellent , very helpful , and the food was great. We indulged in some retail therapy in the shopping centre beside the hotel . It had everything three 60 plus ladies needed for a relaxing break."

"Excellent hotel in a great location. Room very comfortable. Detail to attention very good.......electric curtains, swivel TV, robes & slippers, safe. Superb shower. Club lounge a nice touch. Staff very so friendly and kind. Food delicious in the bar."
