"This is our second visit to Currarevagh. Admittedly, our first was 20 years ago as an overnight stop on the way to visit our daughter in the Rosmuc Gaeltacht. Henry (the ever-present and ever-pleasant) host tells me this is how they get a certain amount of single night business in a very brief summer window. Lucy(his wife) produces a fantastic bill of fare for dinner. She can cater for vegetarian and gluten free also (never easy outside a household that has it at its core). One of our fellow guests for both nights pronounced it an “excellent” vegetarian option- as we compared other places like Cafe Paradiso and Cornucopia as exemplars. As we left, we said “We’ll be back”. The only question left is “How often?”"
"Fabulous place to stay right on the lake. Rooms were lovely and comfortable and the food was amazing. Relaxing by the fire in the drawing room, reading and chatting to the other guests was lovely. The family were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were so friendly too. A lovely treat was the tea and cakes served in the afternoons. Unfortunately because of the bad weather we didn't get to walk the extensive grounds but did enjoy the sauna in the boathouse on the lake. It was wonderful to sit in the warmth looking at the wind and snow swirling across the lake. Most of the other guests had been there several times before. Not a bit surprised by this. We will definitely return."
"One of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in Ireland. Family run. Great attention to detail. The minute you walk through the door you feel that your welcomed into a family home. We would definitely go back."
"Always made to feel special. We are unashamed fans. A repeatable relaxing experience in a gracious old manor type house. The no choice dinner menus have never disappointed and have consistently been a refined dining treat. Wines to match don't break the bank. Can ask for a change as also caters well for allergies and vegetarian needs. Breakfast is worth getting up for and can be had late if you want to get out and about early. The inclusive afternoon tea at 4ish after some vigorous exercise offers baking heaven. Summer swimming in Lough Corrib adds to the fun. The DIY sauna works perfectly is recent and has a wonderful view across the Corrib. Opportunity to go cycling from the house. Walkers also have plenty of options. A perfect mix of action, options to sit and chat and can also choose reading and relaxation."
"A slice of heaven! We loved every moment. The grounds are stunning and the food is Michelin star level. Henry and his team go above and beyond and nothing is ever a problem. Our new favourite place to stay in Ireland. We will definitely be back!"
