Reviews
"Sometimes, things just go wrong… We chose this B&B because we were impressed by their excellent reviews. One more reason for being so shocked by our negative experience there… But let’s start from the undeniable positive points: It’s in quiet location and facing the sea (in the distance). Yet we wouldn’t describe it as panoramic, cause many of the rooms (including ours) actually face the parking. Besides that, please know (we knew) that the road to Clifden is narrow, somewhere to peak on the sea. It’s clean and well taken care of, with comfortable beds (even though the single bed is a bit too small) and well working sanitary facilities. Maybe the shower room would benefit from a little modernization… And sorry but, the fake flowers everywhere are… no comment. There is a private path leading to wonderful sea and cliff views! Bonnie (their dog) will accompany you to the cliffs as an experienced tour guide! And she will delicately keep you company, while you’re outdoor. Simply lovely :-D There is also a beutiful garden from where you can enjoy the sea views, with a picnic bench. Just be aware of the insects, because the bench is very close to the flower bushes surrounding the B&B! That said, a good B&B is: good Bed + good Breakfast… + (mandatory) good Hospitality. And, unfortunately for us, two of them didn’t work well… :-( We knew that the payment weas by cash only. They wrote me that at the time of booking, and it’s also stated on their Booking.com page. So we didn’t appreciate this being remarked during the first thirty seconds of “welcome”… So in addition to the big (tasteless) sign reiterating “We do not accept credit cards”, right in front of you as soon as you enter… But the worst came with breakfast (even though we had a taste of that, with the matter of the centipede): When we arrived at our table, we found a little (tiny) jam jar, already half empty. Cause we didn’t order cooked food, we just asked to have it full, when suddenly Anne became visibly agitated (or irritated?)… She rudely told me: “Do you wanna MORE? MORE? If you wanna MORE, I’ll get you MORE!”. Then she came back with (a little) more jam, and she told me again: “Now you’ve got MORE. If you wanna MORE, just tell me, and I’ll get you MORE!”. The following morning, we decided not to eat the jam (frankly, medium-low quality…), and we took honey instead. Despite that, when Anne arrived in the room told me: “Oh yes, you want MORE jam! I’ll get you MORE!”. You should have been there, to understand how much her behaviour was bewildering, disturbing and unpleasant… We have a restaurant, and we know how much a bad review can affect a reputation… Yet sorry (more for us than you…), but our stay WASN’T pleasant at all. :-("
"Amazing place. We had a great time. Thank you."
