Munstergroup Insurance

"Terrible company to deal with. My Dad passed away 2 weeks ago and I cancelled the direct debit on his van insurance with Munster. I called Munster as a courtesy to inform them to cancel the policy on their end. They were very unhelpful, insisted I needed a solicitor's letter to cancel the policy. My mother was very worried as she cannot afford a solicitor and I asked could we not just write the letter ourselves and attach the death cert. It is stamped by the guards.The girl on the phone was rude and impatient. When I asked to speak to her manager she told me the best she could do was put me on a 24 - 48 hour wait list for a callback. I have since consulted a solicitor who says that there is no need for them to write the cancellation letter. All the other companies I have dealt with in relation to my Dad's death have been very straightforward and kind - Munster are the opposite - a very cold, rude and corporate manner."

"If I could give less than 1 star I would, renewed my dad's car insurance and paid in full for the policy on the 21st December even though his policy was not up until 16th January, to give time for the usual 'Christmas time delays'. I sent an email early January to enquiry about the certificate and was told the renewals are done in date order and that documents would be with me shortly. Needless to say I'm writing this review because the certificate didn't arrive, when queried I was told the certificate was sent out yesterday, its not good enough to post out a certificate the day a policy is up, causing unesecary stress for people who are organised so as to avoid this happening in the first place!!! They are quick to take your money and then slow to send out what you have paid for, not good enough."
