Reviews of Wild Atlantic Hostel
"I came here on a school trip for 3 days. And it wasn't the best trip I was ever on. The staff was rude and not very helpful. As for the night guard, he was extremely rude too. I also felt there should have been a female night gaurd instead of a male gaurd at the girls dorms. The wake up call was not very pleasant they Banged on our doors extremely loud when they didn't need to. As for the food. I would rate it 2 out of 10. The lunch wasn't bad but breakfast and dinner was not up to standard. Portion size was way to small for any one and every night and morning the food was burnt. Me and my friend also got sick after eating it. The advertisement we got in school was bog hopping, kayaking, night walk, and camp fire. We never did any of that stuff. It was a big scam and a waste of money and expensive. Along with the tuk shop being expensive and the vending machines taking our money. They wouldn't give schools the WiFi password as we needed to text our parents. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. And the activitie instructor's gave out to you if you didnt do the activities. Such as i dont like heights so my instructor gave out to me because I wouldn't do the wood sky walk thing. They also put us in rooms with people we dont talk to and groups. So the whole time i couldnt enjoy the trip with my friends. Honestly would not recommend this trip to anyone. Sorry for the bad review. The only good thing was the view of the mountains."
"Cons:- WiFi never worked. The kitchen had no cutlery. No spoons, no knives, no forks. Pros:- Common Place was cleaned regularly Toilet paper was replaced regularly. Beds were okay to sleep on."
"Majority of staff were obnoxious. I openly heard one say “we can make some money of these lot”. Felt like the group and I were constant dehumanized. The food given was abysmal and nowhere near enough food to satisfy a group of male adults. When going up for seconds, the staff would shame you. The rooms are ok and modern and would be a lovely place if run properly."
"stayed on a two day break with my school. the hostel was lovely , clean floors and bathroom , good storage in the room with 6 bunks , but it was not all good as the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the room got severely hot at night . the grub hub meals were ok , portion sizes were NOT ok very small and little to no selection of food"
"Our room had a private bathroom and toilet. There are built-in charging stations and night lights in the beds, also there are boxes right under the beds where you can store under lock your valuables. The mattresses are alright, as for the duvets, I found them uncomfortable as they are 100% polyester but after all, it is a hostel. Even though it a new w hostel there were quite a few signs of wear and tear in the rooms. Staff was very nice and helpful. Jonathan at reception stood out. Location is amazing and there are a lot of fun activities around! One might think it's called Wild Atlantic Hostel for the lack of coverage and wifi signal :) Overall, I would recommend it."
