"We stayed for one night at the Oldtown Farmhouse B&B. Mary greeted us right away. She welcomed us and stayed to chat as we gathered our belongings and settled into our rooms. She also spent a bit with us when we returned from dinner and were planning in the lounge. Our ensuite room was well-sized and our beds were comfortable. The parking is plentiful for all guests. Mary is very friendly, talkative, and kind. This B&B has quite a few rooms. Her breakfast was delicious. My husband enjoyed all his Irish Breakfasts. She was very helpful in helping us plan our itinerary with regard to the weather. Although more in the countryside, it is a short drive to walk around the cute town, with the streets full of dining options. We picked this B&B from bandbireland.com given to us by our travel company. We enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this B&B."
"We stayed at this lovely B&B for 1 night. Its location was great, not very far from Kilkenny. It wasn't too busy when we stayed here so it definitely felt very private. The owner was very helpful and friendly which was the cherry on top for the whole experience. We loved this quaint little B&B and would highly recommend it for a countryside getaway."
"We absolutely love this place! Mary and John are great people! We stayed two nights, and if we hadn't been on a road trip, we would have stayed longer. We were welcomed by a wonderful lady who made us feel as though we had known her all of our life. She went above and beyond, and by the time we left, they felt like family. She gave us a tour of a circle fort on their property, and brought us a nightcap every evening. She made us feel so special, and we think she is special too. If you get an opportunity, don't miss this one! It's the best on the island!"
"We stayed two nights with the Fitzgerald's. What a wonderful home they have. Their home is so clean and beautifully appointed. The bedroom and bath was large and comfortable. Mary was such a perfect host - the weather was perfect so she gave us a personal tour of the ancient ring fort ruins on their property and told us some of the history. She gave us a tour of their family's greenhouse operation - the farm has been in their family for generations. She even brought us a nightcap the first night. John cooked a wonderful Irish breakfast for us the first day (we opted for lighter the second day) - he is a very good cook. The location is perfect for a drive into Kilkenney to see the castle and for night life, and also worked well for a drive down to Hook lighthouse, Wexford, Waterford, and Ardmore. I would highly recommend staying here."
