"I tried Marbles today for the first time after my previous hairdresser relocated to another town. On initial observation the team seemed very efficient all clients had been assigned a stylist or team of stylists. Despite being early for my appointment I was immediately seen to, my coat was swiftly hung up and I was brought to my chair. Within minutes I was introduced to a colourist and another lady who I was informed would be cutting and drying my hair afterwards. Once the initial consultation was done the colourist Lorraine proceeded to work on my hair. She was quite confident in her work and didn't use product for the sake of using it, I had booked a root colour and balyage but when she assessed my hair she felt there was enough lightnesa already there and it would only be wasteful, however she recommended a good toner at the basin. A very welcome cup of coffee was provided something I have not been able to enjoy in a salon since pre Covid and I was left to sit and relax while the colour developed. Then on to the wash basin, at this point there seems to have been some mix up as there was a slight delay before someone came to rinse out my colour and I met a new stylist Mairead who I was advised would be cutting my hair. When she found out that I had previously spoken to a colleague she was very apologetic for which I said there was no need. In the end Mairead turned out to be quite a character from the wash basin through to the cut. She understood that while I was aware length needed to come off of my hair I wasn't exactly scissors happy so used some gentle encouragement. Likewise she knew that I was particularly bored with how the front of my hair was sitting so prior to cutting she moulded the hair in a few directions until we were both happy. Then on to the blow drying we laughed at my severe lack of use of product or heat styling at home and so Mairead put the extra effort in to ensure the curly blow dry showed off the colour and cut to the full extent. By the end of session I had a pain in my face from laughing. In all I spent €145, for this I received a root colour, toner, wash, cut (approx 7 inches off my hair) and a curly blow dry. In general a colour can last me anywhere between 8 to 12 weeks when done well before needing to be done again so I will wait to see on this piece. Highlights, colour was quickly applied, no over use of product for sake of it and very welcome warm beverage. Lowlights, slight confusion in team who would style my hair, however the personality of Mairead meant all was forgiven."
