Reviews of Garretstown Beach Car Park
"Not one of my favourite beaches tbh .. but if you get there early in the morning on a fine day , it’s quite nice . Grand walk from one beach to the other , but it’s also worth going up the head land a bit on either side ( not too close to the edge though)"
"Went for a dip in the sea Saturday evening it was invigorating, then in to the mobile sauna which is there every weekend ,it was fantastic after the cold water inside the beautiful timber sauna and wood stove looking out at the sea what more could u ask for"
"Car park overlooking the beach not very big and usually taken up by large numbers of camper Vans nice scenic spot"
"I love this beach. At low tide it is quite expansive and on a nice day there are warm tidepools to wade in. Children enjoy searching for flat fish, hunting for hermit crabs and periwinkles, and even learning to swim in some of the larger pools. It can get crowded on the beach, and the parking is limited. There is a chipper van where you can purchase burgers, sausages, chips, etc. I highly recommend the cliffwalk at low tide especially. Avoid the weekends of possible as it can get mobbed and social distancing is nigh impossible at high tide. Be aware of tge time and tide, do not be one of those people that need to be rescued because they were forced to cling to the cliff-face when the tide came in. No...really...it happens."
