"I would highly recommend Ahlem and Time to Talk SALT service. My son has been attending for over 2 years now. In Summer of last year we wanted to have our son assessed for Autism. I was aware that there were certain criteria needed in order to be accepted by the HSE and Department of Education. I researched many services that offered Autism Assessments. After discussing it with Ahlem she talked me through the process and I was confident that a comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Team approach would be carried out. Ahlem and her colleague Carol consulted with all people involved in my sons support. Play Therapist, Teachers, including a school visit and also with OT. The process is difficult for parents and my one worry was that my son Aged 4 would not feel uncomfortable or suffer any anxiety during his assessment or as a result of the assessment. When I think back of the first time my son attended Ahlem she was so very skilled at engaging him and holding his interest through play. My son loves going to his sessions weekly even when he may be feeling unwell or out of sorts and has made huge progress with attention and speech. Ahlem has a very positive, supportive and kind professional manner. Ahlem and her colleague Carol completed an in-depth, positive, strength based assessment. It clearly outlined my son’s needs. What we needed to work on , what supports are available and made clear recommendations for supports needed in education . While the process is extremely emotionally difficult because of the diagnostic criteria needed Ahlem and Carol had sensitivity to this through the process."
