Reviews of Carrigaline Tyre Depot Ltd
"At the time of writing and from my experience in dealing with them, I have found them very expensive at times, although they are about average currently. If you have a spare tyre and it is as good as new, I think they make too much of the tread design issue and want to put on two tyres exactly the same thread design. If the tyre thread design is quite close and not significantly and substantially different, from my experience putting on a spare with a tyre which was not a mirror of the one I took off when I had a puncture, it made no difference to performance whatsoever. You just end up buying two tyres instead of one, if you had two front tyres which were worn and waste your money. And the perfect spare stays in the boot when it could be on your vehicle and saved you money! This centre told me that a particular tyre manufacture (the spare) have changed their thread design and suggest or insist your spare might be different. Of course they don't know without actually checking. So make them check! Whether they want to facilitate you in using your spare (even if it is an exact thread match) with the one their selling you could be a delicate matter....? So, ask the service people will they utilize your spare. Obviously, the spare it has to be good enough, or they're would be no point. But if it's perfect and I have found brand new and high end spares in cars I have owned, there is no reason why you should not look into utilizing the spare and save money. I have found this tyre centre quick to change tyres when there is no one else in the garage, but highly unpredictable when there is. NB: This is my opinion on what I experience at this tyre centre and driving experience generally β your experience and opinion and outlook may be completely different. My opinion of issues relating to thread design are my own and I do not claim to be an expert or have any technical knowledge. You can and should always consult with a tyre manufacturer if you feel different thread design could significantly affect road holding or performance. You can email them on their websites. Of course, the main thing is that your tyres have good thread β a lot of cars which were examined after crashes had bald or near bald tyres."
"Nothing to much trouble for the guys here, just dig in and get it done!"
"Arrived there just before they closed with a flat tyre. No problem, took it in, fixed it and put it back on the car. In and out in 10 minutes. Couldn't ask for better!"
"these guys are super obliging and efficient. Have used a few other tyre centres in the area and these are my top choice. If you want specific tyres not in stock just asked them to get them in. Similar prices to online but with fitting included."
"I got 4 Michelin CrossClimate + fitted just before the frost. Outstanding service at a good price. The lads are always helpful and very knowledgeable."
