"The Universal had came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing, everything melted in our mouths. We had the steak, lamb, risotto, prawns and bone marrow, honestly, some of the best food we’ve ever had. The staff were extremely friendly and really nice, they created a really cool vibe, and the espresso martinis were also a big hit. We will definitely be back."

"not too busy & crowded which was very nice and the food was so good!!! i had mushroom risotto and my mom had some fish i can't remember and we split a side of potatoes which were the creamiest potatoes ever. they were spectacular. and it's been a couple weeks but i am still thinking about the risotto"

"We always go back the the Universal. Class wine list, great cocktails, nice beers on tap and good small plates of food- kitchen well organised and spotless. Great staff and a nice atmosphere- its just a lovely place to bring friends when they are visiting Galway. Warm, inviting and comfortable with a nice crowd."

"Experience was okay, the atmosphere wasn't anything special but the service was good. I went back in August and what made me want to leave a review (I don't usually) was just how small the portions were especially at their price. I remember eating my remaining food whilst others at the table were watching and clearly still hungry. I will never understand why you order the sides separate to the main, the main is not enough on its own. I think pictures on Google maps can provide a reference. Albeit, what was there was nice."

"We had a great dining experience at the Universal, our waiter was friendly and the service was good. Everything we tried was great, especially the lamb, fresh mozzarella with romesco, and the steak. The cocktails and dessert were also nice!"
