"AVOID LAYA HEALTHCARE!! I attended the Cherrywood Clinic last Sunday the 12th of Feb. When asked I informed the intake nurse of the symptoms I was experiencing and my allergies. I clearly stated that I am allergic to penicillin and that I also experience Hay-fever. I was sent back to the waiting room where I was subsequently called in by the doctor. The doctor and I had a conversation about my symptoms and she said she would fill a prescription, which I picked up at reception before leaving. On my way to the pharmacy I decided to search online what medication i was prescribed by the doctor. To my horror, I was prescribed the very medication that I am allergic to, penicillin. I contacted the clinic immediately and was advised that they would have the doctor alter the prescription, there was no mention of it being a concern or an issue and it was downplayed immediately. I demanded to be contacted by the doctor who saw me to explain how this was even possible that she prescribed medication that I am allergic to. The doctor who I attended then called me, downplaying the issue and said that they are "working closely with their software developers to make it easier to see patient allergies and that this was a technical glitch". This is unacceptable. How many patients are currently at risk of the same issue and how many patients would investigate what medicines they are instructed to take? How many patients in the past five days have been at risk of taking medicines that have been inaccurately prescribed to them? How is this not an urgent situation and why is Laya not taking immediate action to correct this assumed technical glitch or have I been lied to?"
"Customer Service is the worst I have ever experienced. On hold for 50mins to only be told a manager would have to call me back within 5 working days. You need to check if you are covered before your treatment but yet it takes 50mins to get through on the phone. Just a generally difficult company to deal with and I would never recommend it. VHI is far superior and has incredible customer service. If you are looking for health insurance I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
"We have the Laya insurance and my wife availed the physiotherapy from them. Physiotherapist said will share the excercise booklet and re-schedule session and she never did. On chasing they said she will and its been 4 weeks nothing came."
"Laya was once a fantastic Health Insurance provider. Now they are all about avoiding paying claims through whatever means possible. I have just cancelled my son's policy and downgraded mine to the minimum with a note in the diary to cancel at renewal. I have saved the money and more. Well played Laya."
"Situation in our side the city, have a average customer service, the service I had was some heart checks and physical examination, consulted doctors was really friendly and experienced person. He gave me some good recommendation about case. Got plenty of parking space and quite place."
