Reviews of Baking Emporium Ltd - Shop
"Thanks so much for making my wedding Bulgarian bread! Thank you for taking the order after I’ve tried so many bakeries… and was refused ! Amazing taste and look ! It was a very special Bulgarian touch to our Irish wedding!"
"I was interested to read Shannon's review. This shop makes a habit of selling stale produce. I stopped visiting the shop several months ago after buying a loaf that was brick solid. As I live around the corner I dropped by the following day, a Friday, to let them know. I was asked to bring the loaf back which I did. There were customers in the shop. A young man (son of the owner, I believe) rushed out to head me off, retrieved the stale loaf, and gave me another one, also stale, plus a bag with some stale scones. The reason I've been avoiding the shop is the young man's manner was offensively condescending. Today, Thurs 3 March, I gave it another try. I bought an apple pie which I was assured had been baked this morning. It was stale. I binned it. I won't be back."
"I am only writing this review because I have been disappointed more than once by the baking emporium. The first incidence was stale almond croissants that my mom purchased on a Tuesday. You don’t open on Monday so I don’t understand how they were stale? And for the price of them I should have not returned, until yesterday at the Friday market in Clonakilty. I purchased a white sourdough loaf, again stale. When I held the loaf at first I thought it was a bit hard, but thought it was just my hands being cold. By the time I got home and cut into it I realized it was stale. Again, very expensive for something I had to throw out as it was inedible. Very disappointed, will not be returning."
"I understand under the current situation that we are all scared of this virus but if a customer tells you he has problems breathing and is already wearing a face covering such as a face shield regardless of age you should listen instead of obligating them to wear a face mask. I have a badly deviated septum which makes everyday a struggle and add to that severe anxiety making my ability to control my breath a lot worse which obviously spiked after the situation in the shop. Bread was good and attention to other customers seemed great so just don't misjudge people regardless of how healthy or young they may look and reviews will continue being great as they are. Sorry for the inconvenience but this must be understood."
"The lovely ladies and gentlemen from the Baking Emporium visit VMware once a month which is how I first heard about them. Being from Germany myself, I really appreciate the goods they sell as it's not easy to find some traditional German baked goods. Once I tried their cheesecake it reminded me of home and not only that, it's extremely delicious too. So much so that I ordered a whole one and drove a good hour just to pick it up. No special occasion... It's just that good! :)"
