Reviews of Bridgetown Abbey
"Completely self-guided. The signage could use some TLC. We had the place to ourselves. Beautiful ruins with interesting back story. Amazing example of medieval construction. Hard to believe they (are?) were still burying people there in 2002. The graves have to be dug by hand because they're INSIDE the walls of the abbey."
"Free access. Clean territory. There is a small parking place."
"Bridgetown Priory dating back to the 13th century. Near Castletownroche, County Cork. A beautiful and peaceful place with so much history. Free to visit and no crowds. On the day of our visit there was nobody else around for the hour we spent here."
"Wow, unbelievable spot. Managed to be there by ourselves and just walked around the area for what seemed to be an eternity. Beautiful landscape with just the sound of birds and running water to accompany you."
"Gorgeous peaceful location. In a pasture now. Much larger than we imagined! An old lady with 2 cats lived here last, around 100 yrs ago. Worth a stop if in area"
