"In summary: Wouldn't know a place I recommend higher than Ace Driving School Cork. I had my 12 EDT with Liam back in 2017 who is a great teacher and always pushed me enough to go further but also built my confidence and knowledge in driving at the same time - "Tough love". While I was driving here and there, due to personal reasons I kept moving the date for a test forward a couple of years which led to losing the trust in my driving and partially the skills. To finally get the license sorted I booked multiple refresher lessons with Colm who accessed where I am and what needed improvement. During the refresher I always felt very comfortable and supported. Colm knows exactly when he needs to encourage, "loosen the reins" or just have a chat to take the edge off when I got insecure. I also recommend the option to hire the vehicle for a test. Especially as a foreigner, not everyone has the option to ride in your parent's car but booking extra lessons + car hire gave me the ability to ACE the test. In the end I passed on second try thanks to the knowledge and empowerment of both tutors. I am not only taking away my certificate of competence but also interesting conversations, trust in my abilities and a lesson what makes a good instructor for my own background.
