About Millstreet Community School
Welcome to Millstreet Community School, located in the picturesque town of Millstreet, Co. Cork, Ireland. Our school is a place where students can learn and flourish in a calm, caring, and creative environment. We believe in the power of each student's voice and celebrate their work, working together towards the best possible outcome for them.
At Millstreet Community School, we strive to provide a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics. Our students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities, allowing for meaningful holistic development. We believe in promoting all aspects of growth and development, ensuring that each student's individual needs are met.
Our commitment to creativity is evident throughout the school. Testaments to our students' creativity can be seen in every corner, showcasing our dedication to developing creative skills. We also value the importance of science education, offering a broad curriculum that includes all four sciences for Leaving Cert. Our fully equipped laboratories allow for practical work, contributing to a high student uptake of the sciences.
In addition to science, we also emphasize the importance of STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Art, Engineering, Maths). Our students have a high uptake in these subjects, which ultimately leads to a low drop-out rate in college. We are proud to have a consistently strong presence at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Competitions, where our students develop vital skills for their future studies and careers.
At Millstreet Community School, we understand the importance of student wellbeing. Our teaching is centered around care and respect, ensuring that each student feels supported and valued. We have a warm and caring environment where students are challenged to achieve their full potential.
We are thrilled to have been awarded €25,000 through the Community Recognition Fund 2023, which will help us redevelop our hardcourt playing surface into a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA). This is just one example of how our school community works together to create the best possible opportunities for our students.
