"I was very disappointed with my last service call at Newmarket Motors. The service manager was trying to claim that a mouse got into my ID4 and had eaten a wire causing an airbag light to come on. Basically trying to charge me for a fault that was covered under the manufactures warranty. It left me feeling shocked and upset that I had vermin roaming around the inside of my new car. But there was no evidence like droppings etc. In my opinion a very nasty ploy to get customers to cover labour costs. In the end VW covered costs supposedly as a good will gesture. Update: Apparently Newmarket Motors are now experts in matching so called gnawing marks back to the species involved. Of course it couldn't have been damaged by service department removing panels or manufacturing faults. So a mouse jumped into a sealed car, just damaged the airbag cables and left no other trace."
