Reviews of Neligan's Bar
"Nice atmosphere, good trad folk sesh in the evenings."
"I could not have been happier than to have found this place on our travels to Dingle. Other spots like Dingle Bar are much more touristy and feel staged and manufactured for the tourists. This small pub was bristling with warm energy and a beautiful local Irish spirit. I had the pleasure of ducking in here out of the rain one afternoon by chance and began chatting with the manager Meabh. She was just opening up and she was inviting and full of wonderful Irish hospitality. I had a pint and went on my way. As I walked around town and asked locals where was the best traditional music in Dingle to hear that night many said “oh you should go to Nelligans”. What are the odds! So I popped back in that night and had the best evening of live music I can remember. This is where true traditional Irish music is being played. They have a drop-in spirit there where folks can come and join the small ensemble to play traditional “trad” Irish music and the talent of these local musicians is incredible. They believe in keeping the authentic traditional music alive and you’ll hear fiddles, accordions, guitar, flute, concertina, and singing. I can’t say enough how happy I am to have had the pleasure of experiencing this pub on my travels or having been able to meet the lovely Meabh. Who by the way it turns out is also an incredibly talented musician from a line of famous musicians and plays there as well!"
"We happened to be in town on the day when the locals gathered to play together at this local bar. It was such a fun experience to listen to the music and talk with the locals. We sat for hours listening to stories and hearing local music, it was by far a fun evening. We could have gone back every night of our trip if it had all be located in Dingle."
"Incredible local traditional music sessions. Tuesday nights are very special. Excellent service, fun conversation with locals, and a game of pool. Great Irish whiskey collection."
