Reviews of Historic Stroll Kinsale Walking Tours
"Barry is knowledgeable, personable and funny. I'm not that much of a history buff, but he made it come alive as we did an easy stroll through the town. It was immersive as he described where we were standing and what we would have been seeing during different historical periods. He simplified the history enough so it was easy to follow and absorb who was fighting who, where and why. The time flew by and he kept everybody engaged. For 8 euros per person this is a no-brainer for a highlight of Kinsale. He also has his book for sale for 10 euros in case you didn't catch all the facts throughout the walk. Highly recommended!"
"My husband and I had taken Barry’s tour in 2014 and we’re so happy that we were able to take it again this year along with our two friends. He is so funny and knowledgeable. If we are able to come back to Kinsale we would gladly take his tour again. It’s a “can’t miss” experience."
"We just completed a brilliant tour with Barry. We live in Kinsale, from Kinsale and Courtmac. We've done walking tours all over the world and hadn't done it here. It was amazing. Very informative, personable, entertaining and funny. Lovely 90 minutes, very easy walk but plenty different spots and large variety of historic content. Very highly recommended tour, not just for the tourists!!"
"Fantastic way to orient to Kinsale. Barry does a great job with storytelling and interaction. Must do to really understand the area and it’s importance. Don’t fall for any other tour, this is the on,y on Rick Steves does recommend!"
"Absolutely fantastic tour. Barry is a natural born story teller and you will feel like you are reliving the history of Kinsale as he walks you though its winding streets. From the Spanish Armada to the alternative uses of the stone facing on old chapels, you will be engaged every step of the way."
