Reviews of Bantry Bay Charters - Glengarriff
"We took a family trip out in Glengarriff Bay with Niall. Trip was fantastic. Our teenagers and 11 year old loved it. We saw porpoise and couple of dolphins. My son caught his first fish with the fishing on board which he was very excited about but the best for him was the creatures that came out of the lobster pot. Like poking about in rock pools on the boat. Niall was great with all of the kids, engaging and funny with the teenagers while sharing his knowledge. We all enjoyed the day."
"I have been on 2 'Marine Wildlife Tour with Fishing' trips with Bantry Bay Charters; one in summer 2021 and one in May 2022. Both trips were excellent. The crew are knowledgeable, friendly, with safety as a priority. On the most recent trip I brought both of my sons (13, 6) and they had a great time. I booked online on Saturday night for a Sunday trip at 13:30, which was a very easy process. I think the smile on my son's face after his first ever catch says it all... (Note: Both are wearing life jackets under their jumpers - it got a little chilly) I am looking forward to booking a sunset tour with my partner over the summer."
"I called on a Saturday afternoon for a Sunday trip. Sharon was very friendly and great at communication. Normally the trip goes on when there are 6 people, there were only 3 on the day and the skipper Niall still decided ro run the trip. We appreciated a lot as we are leaving in a few days. Niall was friendly, funny, made hot tea for us, explained a lot of history. Unfortunately we didn't see the sea eagle but we saw seals and got close to Whiddy Island. Niall also offered fishing for us which we enjoyed very much, caught my first fish in life in the first 3 minutes. That was a baby fish so I had to let it go. Next time we come back we will definitely book again, and hope can see whales and dolphins, and the famous sea eagle. Oh also there is a toilet on the boat. I often get sea sick, but felt absolutely fine this time. Thanks a million Sharon and Niall."
"We went on a sunset tour with Captain Darren yesterday! (27/06) It was absolutely amazing. Really knowledgeable guide and the views were stunning. We also learned about a two timing eagle and the French armada. And to tip it off, a spot of fishing. All in all I would highly recommend the Bantry bay charter company and the sunset tour in particular and the prices are amazing too! Ps, photos really do not do the views justice"
