"I had an amazing experience with trailfinders until now especially with Maura who is a lovely person. Going through every detail to craft the perfect trip is something we enjoyed when booking our honeymoon which we had to amend due to Covid. The year after, we organised a second trip for our first anniversary and changed location as Australia and New Zealand were not sure to be open to travel. Since I got a job offer, we no longer live in Ireland so we decided to amend a second time and to make something smaller. We went from a cost of 10k to 1.5k just not to lose our deposit money. Being in Spain we called trailfinders and tried to organise something nearby over the phone. We decided to go to Mallorca because of price range and availability of their partners and because both hotel and flights must be booked with them. It turns out that there is no hotels in Palma within our budget for three nights and with their hotels so the agent books us in Santa Ponsa saying that it’s very close to Palma. Price was somewhere around 1600€ for both flight and hotel for a standard room and just breakfast. We decided to do some research and it turns out that the price was actually 600€ less if we were to book on our own and with a superior room with seaview with breakfast and dinner included. So we pointed this out and we paid the correct amount. This massive price difference should have been a red flag for us but we decided to move forward because we had very good experience with them in the past so we trusted the agent. We get there and it’s not close to Palma but 20 minutes by car. Hotel has 2 beds instead of a double (remember honeymoon, anniversary and so on) The place is awful. Hotel dirty and broken. Dinner is a buffet and closes at 9 as well as the rooftop that closes at 11 (now you are in Spain and they close everything before midnight?) This was not a place for a young couple during their anniversary but some sort of parking spot for old tourists that have no clue. In fact it turns out that the area is well known for being one of the worst places in Mallorca. When we decided to complain with Trailfinders, their answer was that I knew that the place was not Palma and that in Ireland people have dinner early. Now they advertise tailored trips and they put this on me? They are the ones that know the places and that we pay to sort those things out and all they could do was to indirectly say it was our fault without doing literally anything to solve the issue. If we haven’t rented the car on our own we would have been stuck in this tourist trap place where food is awful and people get scammed. So to sum up I feel like they stopped caring when I could no longer afford to do a 10k trip and that they tried to get as much money as possible off of me. When this didn’t happen, they threw an itinerary just to get rid of us. Ah to make up for the separate beds, they offered a 50 euros refund for the annoyance which feels more like an insult than anything. After my review I was contacted by management which I appreciate but of course it’s already too late as my experience was already ruined and they failed to support me when I needed"
