"We would highly recommend Darren to help with your dog training needs. We had been to a couple of trainers before but none of them gave us practical, clear tips on how to engage with and enrich our dog's life. Our doggy responded well to the training path Darren set us on. He is much calmer and knows how he should be before heading out for a walk or getting into a car, etc. Darren gave us lots of enrichment ideas also to help stimulate our very clever doggy too. Thanks for all your help Darren!"
"Have been to the F.E.T.C.H. Park a number of times with our dogs. After experiencing the professional manner Darren conducted those sessions (and providing useful tips) we engaged his services for one of our dogs (Eddie). Eddie had very little impulse control and used to become frantic when seeing other dogs on a walk, especially when the other dogs were off lead. During the initial session, we worked with one of Darren’s dogs at a distance to help Eddie with his fearful reaction and helped establish a baseline of how Eddie reacted and just as important, how we managed the encounter. We were given a individualised report after the initial training session and some recommended reading materials and videos to further enforce what we worked through in the session. Initial work was on impulse control, working with a tennis ball. Eddie was obsessed with tennis balls to the point where not even the highest value food wouldn’t distract him. After a few weeks of the recommended force free impulse training, Eddie looked at the tennis ball as a way to trade for food and no longer lunged to get the ball without being cued to do so. We were able to extend this to other impulse situations. This laid part of the foundation to be more relaxed around other dogs. We spent the next few weeks working with Eddie, reading up on the materials and implementing what we had learned. We worked on it each day, some days better than others until we were at a point where Eddie was enjoying walks even after encountering other dogs. Darren was always available if we had any follow up questions on our “homework”. We booked a follow up session in a public park to have Darren to assess how we had been applying what we had learned. It was great to have Darren provide additional advice and help point out improvements and how to pick up on Eddie’s body language for the correct timing to distract his attention or reinforce a good reaction (with treat or praise). As an ultimate test for Eddie (and us) there was a springer spaniel jumping around off lead chasing a tennis ball while we were at the park:) Eddie gave some initial barks but was quite happy to just put the head down and sniff away as we circled around the area were the dog was playing, paying very little attention to it. Eddie is now at a stage where he can enjoy a walk (even after encountering other dogs) which was the main goal of the training. He will bark from time to time at other dogs but gone is the mad frantic barking and subsequent distress. Thanks Darren!"
"I LOVE this place for my greyhound Daphne. In fact, I love this place so much that we have gone twice a week since we found it 5 months ago. Sometimes we go on our own, sometimes we go with a doggie friend or two. The park is clean, has room for a greyhound to run, the grass is regular cut, and there are loads of toys, agility items etc. What makes Fetch Dog Adventure Park unique is the amazing service Darren gives. He helps you ensure your dog gets the most of the time there, he encourages them to have fun, to play, to use toys, to try the agility items. But he also gives them time to chill, to sniff and enjoy picking blackberries from the hedge. He has also helped me understand my dogs body language. You can see how much she loves him in the pictures. It is definitely worth visiting."
"Darren is amazing! In a month we have seen such an improvement with our American Pitbull's reactivity with other dogs and her impulse control. Storm loves going to the play park every week to run free and practice what Darren has taught us during our 121 training sessions."
"We had such a great time with our French Bulldog Ruby at the adventure park - Darren was a brilliant help showing us how to use the different elements and how to encourage Ruby to interact with them. Definitely not our last visit - thank you so much!"
