"I dined at the Mustard Seed back in the 90s when Dan Mulane was the owner and what a difference it was in comparison to last night I have to say! When I was given a wedding anniversary voucher to come back to what I believed to be such a top class restaurant needless to say I was over the moon! However when we arrived I could hear the loudness of the party already in the dining room!!!!. Staying open minded we were seated in the waiting sitting room until our table was ready. We were eventually taken to our table by the window which was lovely however the noise level was so bluddy loud from 2 tables of people that were very obviously intoxicated and each one shouting louder that the other to be heard we really felt like we were in the local pub on a busy Saturday night!!!! Not the romantic night we were anticipating! We couldn't even have a conversation over the noise level in this small country house dining room. I made a comment to the young waitress that it wasn't the romantic night I was so looking forward to and the noise level from that table was giving me a headache she just smiled it off. We left without even having our desert!!!!! Would never go back here again nor recommend it if you want a romantic dining experience! Such a shame the Ower hadn't the knowledge to know you don't put a couple into a room with an atmosphere of drunken loudness of people that were so immersed in who can shout the loudest to give a damn whom else wants an enjoyable night out also!!! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MUSTARD SEED!"

"Spent a marvellous evening and night, celebrating a birthday. Room was great, old country house feel, to it. Relaxed in the afternoon in the library, after a hike up Knockfierna. Hot whisky in hand and fire lighting, perfect on a cool November day. Brilliant, friendly staff we were made feel so welcome. Nice atmosphere and food was top class.. Will definitely visit The Mustard Seed again.."
"The evening meal was very nice. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. I was not that impressed with the breakfast in the morning. the portions were very small and a poor choice"
"Just back from two nights and two dinner break. Just fantastic, John Edward and his team were superb. Beautiful setting, lovely room and wow the food. When so many large hotels have become so generic, it is great to see unique and authentic excellence thriving in smaller hotels. Keep doing what you are doing guys we will be staying again."
