Reviews of Saffron Indian Cuisine
"The food was good but not great. Service was good and we got free popadoms with some side dishes of things I don't know what they were. (See pitcures) They were lovely. The layout and decor of the restaurant was nice Everything was fine but the biggest issue I had was the restaurant was cold, and it wasn't just me. There was a lady sitting at another table with a big coat on, completely tied up in front. Again this can be seen in pictures. This is not normal behavior if the room temperature is good and it wasn't. This wouldn't stop me going back there if I was in the area again. My wife loved her Gluten free meal."
"Our third time in as many weeks excellent meal each time. Good wine list. Man in charge very obliging. Will be back soon."
"Have been visiting this restaurant for a few years now, and we never had to complain, sometimes though they aren't consistent. A balti today won't be the same balti tomorrow, but that may be down to a different chef. It is a clean restaurant as well, friendly and they would meet us half way as our location is out of their range. Vegetarian dishes are lovely"
"Arrived at 8.40pm (restaurant close at 10pm). They were cleaning and we feel we were not really welcome to arrive now. Order: Arrived at 20:40 on a Sunday, they told us they would take everything at the same time because the kitchens close at 9pm (It was write 10pm on the website but why not, it did not bother us as much). We was very surprised to see a couple arrrived at 9.30pm... We asked for the drinks card because not taken with it. The guy was still unkind. Entrance: Plates and dishes burning but the guy did not warn. 2 poor samoussa (we wanted to share and we did but it was almost painful to share that... we expected at least 3 or 4). Dish: Far too spicy despite the request that we did not want too spicy (marked on the menu, we can ask for less spicy). Ask to redo it because not edible and just adding A LOT OF cream. Very little to eat in both traditional dish (some piece of mutton and chicken with a lot of sauce) and burning. The 2 courses of rice were consistent but dry and still very very (too) burning. Payment: my card did not work the first time and it clearly and openly bored to try again (no excuses). We finally tried again with another waiter and it worked. Conclusion: We will NEVER come back. In Cashel, we prefer to go to Brian Boru right across the street which is a very good bar with excellent meat cooked and cheaper or at M Ryan which is a very decent restaurant for a few euros more. We will test the Thai restaurant next time but never again here. Nothing good to say sorry... I could say it was clean... It should because the guy almost sweep under our feet while we was eating...."
