Reviews of Driftwood Surf Cafe
"Big juicy oysters and hamburgers with a beautiful view. Highly recommend for lunch stop on the Ring of Kerry drive."
"Such a lovely spot. A beautiful space inside that feels modern yet cosy, with brilliant views out to the water and a turf fireplace. The food I tried was excellent. Each oyster had a different mignonette; and all were tremendous. The seafood chowder was delicious too. And the staff and proprietors were super friendly and helpful, offering some great recommendations for what to check out nearby, including one of my favorite walks in all of Ireland. They have beautiful outdoor seating, as well as a bothy closer to the beach in the summer time for coffee and light fare."
"What an amazing place in a beautiful location, lovely owners and staff. We installed one of our tents for a sell out show last weekend that sounded great. Will definitely come back as a guest in the future."

This place has got it all – from the great food to the welcoming staff, you won't be disappointed. Despite being surprisingly busy, Driftwood Surf Cafe manages to keep up with the crowds, and their food is worth the wait. While the prices might be a bit on the pricier side, it's still worth it for the quality of the food, and it's definitely a spot worth exploring even if you're on a budget. The brilliant sea view and decor here is second to none, and it makes for the perfect Instagram-worthy brunch spot. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, and they'll go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable dining experience. This cafe is a hidden gem in Co. "I’m neither a foodie nor a world traveler but I happened to be fortunate enough to to have travelled to Ireland with my two adult daughters. We had spent all morning and most of the afternoon driving to and tramping around many of the sites of interest in the Ring of Kerry. By mid-afternoon were famished, exhausted and nerve-wracked from driving a car on the left side of a road wide enough to accommodate two oncoming wheelbarrows. We drove through a few small burgs but didn’t see a place that looked interesting and then Driftwood Surf Cafe popped up on Google Maps so we made a few turns to get there. First of all they could limit their menu to a soup of rusty nails and sewer water and still get three stars just for location, venue and ambiance. It is as stunning as anything else in Ireland. But the menu had many options and we chose three. Daughter #1 had a salad with goat cheese - everything as fresh as it can be, the cheese nothing like it in world, and fresh bread. Daughter #2 had fish and chips - flaky and flavorful with a light crispy breading; and I had the best bowl of seafood chowder in my life (I’m 70 - I’ve tried a few). It had more fish than vegetables (good) but I could also taste every ingredient. All selections were well prepared and presented and hot out of the kitchen. The server was gracious, charming, funny and best of all, she answered all our questions. If there is ever another day I can make it back to Southwest Ireland I pray the Driftwood Surf Cafe is there to greet me."
