"One of the best pubs I've ever been in. It's small, cosy and old fashioned. I'd say it is a very old pub in Bantry. Great service, with the bartenders both being friendly and very welcoming. The night out was cold wet and very windy. Inside was warm and snug. We had only intended going in for half an hour but stayed for five hours! We were made to feel so welcome by all the other customers, we were invited to play backgammon ( had to be taught) by a local group which was great fun. Then a little later a spontaneous sing song started up. The people of Bantry are so friendly. It was one of the best night's out we ever had. Thank you Ma Murphs"
"Really awesome place and experience. Such friendly people. Much to explore and see as you walk about. Enjoyed chatting with people at the bar up front. Can't say enough about the friendliness of the owner and his knowledge of many things. Thanks for the red lollipops! Totally made us kids at heart *almost* as happy as we were to knock back a couple pints of Murphy's. We will return :)"

"This bar is further down,so not as central as Wolfe Tones Square. It's definitely worth the "longer"walk. The bar owner is lovely and hospitable.If you are a tourist, he can tell you a lot about history and stories from around the area. Cosy traditional interiors plus a lovely beergarden and live music events room in the back area. Hopefully Irish pubs with this Irish uniqueness,a nice chat and local beers will never die out."
