Reviews
"Worst local shop going. Staff are always just wondering around the shop instead of being on a till. Some staff take phone calls while serving you which leads to confusion, make sure to ask for a receipt because they will charge you incorrectly."
"Save your money and avoid this absolute joke of a store. Worst corner shop in existence. I cannot convey to you how much I despise this franchise. Granted, it's not specifically to do with this particular shop, but they clearly reflect the nature and values of the entire company that thrives on overcharging for basic amenities in area's that don't have the highest average earners and thereby essentially robbing those that can least afford it. Basic things like fresh vegetables are marked up to an unconscionable price for example, they have the audacity to charge £1.79 for a single head of cauliflower. Just to put this in perspective, Waitrose (I.e. one of the most expensive british supermarket franchises) currently charge £1.10 for a standard cauliflower. I've found multiple times after buying fresh items that they start to rot and decay ridiculously fast after purchase. Staff often fail to scan reduced items at the actual reduced price so you end up paying full prices for items that are on their sell by date. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the staff in general, they're usually always friendly and accommodating, however this unfortunately does not negate the fact that they work for what I think is th2 worst corner shop franchise this country has ever seen. I will always go to Premier a few doors down or the local green grocer wherever possible. Long story short. F**k Budgens."
"Security is bad pushing me and trying to get me out the shop for walking around"
"Only been twice and never again. First time bought a selection of snacks for one item to be out of date and the packet of peanuts had already been opened, second time bought another item and had not noticed that that was also out of date."
"Costa machine isn't always topped up. Double check expiry dates before purchasing as some products tend to be near dated. The store often operates with one staff member only which means queues happen, prices aren't always updated and price labels not always in the correct places which lead to purchasing more expensive items when you thought they were cheaper despite reading the price label first. Red ticket items that are reduced are sometimes put through at full price so point those out as you check out. Staff are friendly/polite."
