"Great place to visit especially if you enjoy historical buildings photography and walking The walk down towards the village is slightly downhill which isn’t too bad but the incline on the way back is quite tiring. I took my dog who absolutely loved the hills and climbing and I enjoyed the photography the lake and the peaceful surroundings. Fortunately the weather was good on the day and it was an enjoyable few hours. Take plenty of water to drink you’re going to need it."
"Wharram Percy is a wonderful place to explore, there is a small car park with a £2 charge which you pay by text message (free for English Heritage members). You walk down the hill on a chalk path, through a couple of gates and field down to the edge of Wharram Percy. The church still stands and I recommend walking on the the hill side where the houses used to be. Read the interpretation. Great to be above the church. The pond is a nice place to stop for some lunch."
"What an interesting place! We parked there early as it does get busy! It is £2 to park but you can pay by text or online. I can't comment on the walk down as we did an extended walk (10 miles) but the actual area itself is captivating with its history! We spent a good hour looking round the graves and reading the notice boards. We were lucky as we met a local man who told us that there are people in the local villages still related to the people buried in the grave yard, which we found interesting."
"This is a great place to visit if you are a good walker, as the village is set in a valley amongst farmland and the car park is a good 10 to 15 minutes walk. In bad weather the ground is very wet and muddy. It is definitely worth the effort as the site has a beautiful ruined medieval church with headstones from local hamlets. Following many archaeological excavations it is possible to see the village plan set out in the fields with helpful information boards . The scenery is stunning, peaceful with no noise other than birdsong. A step back in history, but wear good stout footwear."
