Reviews of Ainslie Park
"Better to take your kids here for the play equipment than it is to rhe Teenager infested People's Park. Also great for dogs."
"Our council tax paid to lay a new pathway through this small green space (once a graveyard). The eastern half is subject to flooding, the result being shallow ponds with reed beds and wading birds. Most of the trees are sadly dying or are already dead. The most negative feature has to be the amount of litter and fly-tipping, especially as you enter via Winteringham road. Despite many reports and complaints to NELC, our council work force is 'not responsible' as that area is common land with no listed owner. Over the past few months the ponds have drained away leaving mud and wildlife needing to find another home, in the parched summer months this would be expected but I am writing this in February! Green spaces such as this should be nurtured and treasured, we all need them."
"I’ve never heard this place called ‘Abbey Park’ it just came up on Google Maps as this, as far as I know it’s called ‘Ainslie (Street) Recreation Ground’ A long time ago now (mid 19th to mid 20th century) before it was a green space is used to be a cemetery (graveyard). I believe many of the smallpox fatalities were buried here in the 1870s"
"Always a well kept play area for the children"
"Abbey park was fine no dog muck a spacious."
