"Let us start with perhaps one of the best, maybe overlooked, advantages about Wyboston Lakes Resort ... it's about 4 minutes from the A1 and that's if the 2 sets of traffic lights are against you. It's so easy to find and access and yet, there was no audible road noise from within the conference facilities, or the hotels. That, is an amazing thing in favour of tis venue. Wayfinding arounding the resort (it's large) is very easy, aided by clear and prominent signage. When you arrive at any of the different venue locations, you will find parking, plentiful and easy to manoevre around, into and out of. This stay was at the Waterfront Hotel and there are many good things. The self-checkin machines and process is easy, you even issue yourself your own room key, a white plastic (OK not so great given their sustainability claims) card with nothing on it. Excellent ecurity. If you lost it, you wouldn't even know yourself if you'd found the key to yourown room! I liked this point. The fragrance throughout the groundfloor was really nice on this occassion a sort of cedarwood aroma that was pleasantly prominent. I guess it came from the Spa, but it permeated everywhere in the public areas and was an unexpected pleasant difference. The room was basic, bland; in that it was a standard hotel bedroom typical of a myriad of business-hotels. It was clean, comfortable and a reasonable size. Unfortunately, in this specific case, there were several long, blond hairs (mine is short and either black or too often grey) in the shower cubicle. 'Not normal', a one-off or other excuses could be made, but it made me wary of everything in the bathroom and I didn't then use the cups etc. Another plus ... the iron was excellent which regular travellers will know is unusual. In the bar which had great dark decor, creating a sumptuous 'feel', it was really quiet, there were 4 staff stood well apart from each other behind it. To my surprise, not one of them thought to appraoch me and ask what I'd like ... not for 4 minutes. I felt I was in a Clint Eastwood western stand-off. It happended to others after me. Coincidence or not, the 4 'young' team members showed very little interest in me as a customer and were agrrieved that the BDO event in the room next door, complained that there wasn't a member of staff tending their private bar. I wanted to rush and tell them I had 4 ... but it made no difference. There's an engaging robot working in the restaurant, it delivers plated meals from the distant kitchen to the waiting staff at the bar, who then deliver it to the customer. That's the best thing about my bar/restaurant experience. We agree with another review that the drinks are expensive, but would add that the meals are not, they are value for money. After a while, the plentiful signs around the hotel and conference centre proclaiming a commitment to the environment began to grate. It became clearer and clearer, that whilst intention may have been good, belief was genuine ... almost without exception the little actions were about cost cutting/profit increase. How do I know .... well yes the coffee cups were single use & compostible, but the biscuits were in plastic film, I could be rewarded for not having my room cleaned ... but not with credits for drink or food, or spa use or .... our overall take is that on business, there are more reasons to use this venue than not, the various 'offers' like all hotels make it value for money."
"We are a games event hire company. We have delivered to Wyboston Lakes on many occasions and are always met by friendly and helpful staff. This weekend we hired an air hockey, table football and beer pong. Wyboston even let us collect the next morning, do we had an evening off. Much appreciated."
"A beautiful location with Golf, spa and lakes all around amongst many acres of land. Great place to relax , lovely hotel and venue."
"Loved it here. Great rooms, service and facilities. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rachel the conference team was standout."
"The rooms in the main hotel are nice but there are parts to this hotel in need of refurb in other sections tbh these rooms I was told are planned to be upgraded then my overall grade would be 4*, great location though, I was here on a corporate stay and we all had a great time."
