"EPIC GAMER MOMENT"
"Good college if you’re willing to work hard. The grounds are nice and pleasant, and the facilities are good. Tutors will work hard to support you but they sometimes expect too much. If you’re planning on doing anything other than Uni, you will get very little to no support ‘post-graduation’ from any staff, in finding full time work or apprenticeships, etc. Subjects are a little dry. These isn’t a huge variety, and many interesting courses have been cut (graphics, product design). The I.T course is outdated and didn’t teach me anything useful for uni (i.e. coding skills-which I actually need). And the management only care about standardised testing/grading as a means of evaluating an individual. A lot of the work is reproducing/memorising a marks scheme or copying off a template. I was also refused to take graphic design and had to pick economics which I had no interest in at all, to even make the cut for this college. My other subject was media, which was just a waste of time. I’d still recommend studying here if you’re local, but expect to work hard and be pushed down the university path. It’s a good environment for meeting people and making lasting friendships. The student educational trips are good and there are extra curricular activities which you can get involved in such as fundraisers and charity events. Don’t balance all your mental health on securing a University place straight away. I took a year out and made the cut by getting an unconditional offer from Nottingham. This place is still a good stepping stone for higher education but not a direct path."
