"Booked a tradesman to do a stair carpet and stair runner job. I paid the €35 deposit. Richard Cleary never turned up on Mon, 31st Oct, and didn't have the courtesy to tell me he had to cancel the appointment. After chasing him, he gave me some feeble excuse. He rebooked for Sun, 6th Nov at midday. Hey presto, he never turned up. He won't answer his mobile. I emailed him and he said he would be delayed and would turn up at 5.30pm. I waited until 6pm (Christ, you couldn't make this up). Again, no sign of him at 6.15pm. I made several phone calls, no reply (as usual). I sent another email and this time the excuse was "My phone is in van I'm still on same job we ran into few problems. I'm not free tomorrow but I'm free Tuesday am around 8 if suits. Sorry to keep you waiting". I've given up now, and will have to look for someone else. I have lived in the UK, USA, France and the Middle East. I have never had a problem with tradesmen in these countries. They turn up, on time, and get the job done at a reasonable cost. That’s because they have the right attitude, combined with courtesy, and 100% total professionalism. Avoid these cowboys. Useless, and pathetic. It's a shame I can't give Zero stars."

"Most people hate tradesmen, as your lot caused at least two economic recessions (in recent memory). Pay back all you scrounged, please, or else tell your members to simmer down when addressing taxpayers (who fed your lot for far too long). You're a toxic bunch, and the rest of us are getting sick of paying your way in life. Other than that, your lot will keep mouthing off to all and sundry, and I will keep spitting on you and informing you of your massive debt to society."

"I have just got some plumbing work done from Enda Dunne. I found him to be very professional in his manner. He was very punctual on coming back with a quote and stuck to his word on the price. He did not request any payment before the job was complete and went above and beyond to make sure the heating system was working correctly before he finished. I would have no hesitations in recommending Enda Dunne to any potential customers."
