Reviews of ARK Ayrton Primary Academy
"I am in this school and its good. There are strict teachers but thats ok as they are making you ready for the next year. I will miss a ton of teachers here and i wish all of the younger years good luck. I am making this review as i am leaving very soon and i think it’s appropriate to finally share my opinion of the school to the school. Good luck with everything you small kiddos in year 5+ and for the children in year 5 and year 1 right now i wish you good luck in your SATs. -BrookeS A year six child"
"I sent my child to there nursery a few years ago now. Staff are very rude. Also some days I would pick up my child I would peek though the window, and see teachers on there phones whilst my child wonders around looking bored. I toke her out of that place. Put her in the best school Portsmouth arundel Court. Also I had a friend her son was also in there nursery she told me a member of staff was very ruff with her son. She was toke him out. I remember going there when I was like 6y old. I remember the staff being vile to me then. Bad bad memories."
"Im an ex pupil from this school. Have fond memories till this day i live in london now and attended this school when it was called summers park primary school. Ahh such good memories. Im 23 now. I remember when there was a pond with ducks which I believe is now gone and I remember the cakes we used to buy on break. I remember we had a club at lunchtime where we would help the caretaker cut bushes and vines that had overgrown. I remember the small frogs we raised from tadpoles in reception and our beans and sunflowers we grew. I remember we had a line of taxis one day lined up outside the school which took us to paultons park. We moved to london when i finished year 3 and it had always bugged me that i never got to live out summers park till year 6. But anyway I digress, Summers park (Ark Ayrton) was and still will forever be the absolute best school in my heart forever and if i ever lived in Portsmouth again i would send my kids here."
"such an amazing primary school i went here since i was four years old (15 now) i was here when it was summers park and i was year 5 when it switched to ark ayrton and i loved the years there the students are well cared for and was such fun!!!!!!!"
"I am an ex-pupil from this primary school, after moving primary schools 6 years ago. (I left before it turned to ARK Ayrton, when I was in Year 2, so I was there for the Somers Park era!!!) From what I have experienced at my time there (from nursery to year 2, that's how long i had been there for, so around 2 years???), There are some pros and cons that I would like to say here. --- PROS: - Some teachers are nice, I even had a 1-1 (Just in case you ask why, I have Autism, so it was a bit complex for me) - The work there was a bit meh, but mostly easy. - The students there are caring, I even had a very close friend who did go to this school (will not mention who due to privacy reasons) and kinda followed on to my schools that I have been to! - There was an inclusion room(?) and it had a sensory tent, a small ball pit, you could play with toys, etc etc. (That was what I could remember) --- CONS: - When I was there, the fire alarm went off ALMOST ALL THE TIME due to mischevious people pressing it, and like I mentioned, I have autism so it didn't really help because autism enhanced my hearing a bit, including my personality (it was like ear-piercing loud--) - Year 2 was a bit up and down (i'd say the worst year i had there), welp... The teacher I had was very strict, I was sent to buddy class (basically parking you to a different room to work if you have been "naughty" in class. One time I was put in buddy class because I wanted to play with a digeridoo (long pipe like instrument) but some other kid was using it (I was very needy, so do not even say: "but that was fair of them to do that, you deserved it! you need to share things") - I was taken out of class by my 1-1 sometimes to do what i call: "unwanted extra maths". It was very unneccesary, and i was missing out on work that my Year 2 teacher was teachin' the class about. --- TL;DR: If you want to send your autistic/special needs child to this school, I reccomend you don't. This school was fun while i lasted there..."
