Reviews of Tuppenny Barn
"Looks lovely. Granted, it was 3am and I was delivering bakery goods from one of their suppliers (oh my, you gotta try that bread) but, all the same, it looks a lovely place The 3 star review is solely because I HAD to tick stars in order to give my (limited) opinion and I was unable to give a full review based on full personal experience (middle way seems fair if I've not actually been in yet) but everything I've heard from visitors is very positive. I do look forward to visiting at sensible o'clock"
"Some really nice local produce available and a lovely idea, just unfortunate that its only open on Thursdays 9-4 and they sell out of fresh produce within the first hours, I arrived at 1pm to find most things sold. Not easy for people who work to access/support them. Im sure we'll be back for dry goods"
"After booking the venue for a private hire event due in 2021, like many events we had to postpone due to covid. Due to this delay the original event was no longer needed/appropriate. But as we were told no refund but we could move the date on booking, we asked to use our hire slot from 2021 for another event (a celebration party to see all family and friends that couldn't attend my sisters wedding in 2021) and reselect a date in 2022. As soon as the venue heard the word wedding it was "the charges will be higher for a wedding". We didn't want any extra services, any extra time etc. The venue was priced per hour of hire in my agreement not per person but all of a sudden the number of people became an issue and more charges were being applied by the minute. It was a struggle, and after many attempts to squeeze more money out of us, even saying our event was OUTDOORS only (which it clearly wasn't as I had all original emails saved with proof of our hire agreement!) this was the final straw and we managed to agree that a refund would be the best option. I was totally shocked at how they treated us. And would never go there again! Be wary if you are booking the venue and keep EVERY email and correspondence so you don't get bullied into paying more! The only saving grace was that we did get a refund, in the end!"
"Brilliant place which have been improving ever since it opened. Great for educational school trips about plants, bugs and wildlife. Fun for all the family with lots of events and activities. Also good for parties and weddings. Lovely flowers, plants, herbs and vegetables. Also a good place for a nice picnic."
"My "wife" and I tied the knot at tuppenny and had the best time. Maggie was so helpful and the caterer Liza is a superstar. Thank you for the perfect day and not ripping us off in price."
