"The group we saw Rhythm of the 90s were great but just shame the venue was over booked with too many people and didn't feel safe so we left as at one point we was in the baseband and told it was closing and we all had to go up stairs which was already full and we couldn't even get up the stairs, we waited on the stairs for a while till in the end doorman let us out fire exit. Felt we wasted our money and it wasn't very well organised at all. Really felt unsafe and so many people left early due to this."
"Went to see rhythm of the nineties Jan 2023. First time I've been here despite living in Portsmouth. Band was good bar service was good prices not to bad. Toilets pretty standard for a Portsmouth pub. Atmosphere was nice with a wide variety of genres of people having a good time. Sounds system was good too. Main let down was the fact it's spread over two floors basement and ground. Stage and all 440 people trying to dance on the sweaty hot 1st floor with no (or not enough a/c) and ten people merrily drinking downstairs in the cold basement (there is a bar down there but it was understaffed) overall I enjoyed it but it could be improved by enlarging upstairs (remove the loos put more in downstairs) and reduce the size of the upstairs bar. Plus add more seating or a screen showing upstairs downstairs to encourage people in. Give the girl doing the cloakroom a torch (she was using her phone) As a kid I remember this venue being advertised as Harry Lyme's 5 venues in 1. Seemed to be still trying to do everything hence no great at any . Still had a good time though and I'd go again"
"Great little basement club. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Been here for Southern Exposure club nights."
"Best bottomless brunch in Portsmouth! Syncs amazing energy from all the staff and overall vibe. Can’t wait to go back for a different event soon!"
