Reviews of Kings Theatre
"Saw the Bowie Experience here and it was one of the best shows ive seen. Im about 6ft 2 and had plenty of room in the seats. Not the most expensive place either. Ushers were friendly. Great to see a show in such a historic place."
"Absolutely beautiful theatre. The decorations around the stage, ceiling, and the different seating levels are really intricate. The outside and box office are like stepping back in time to when architecture looked nice, rather than functional. The seats are quite limited in their room but are comfortable enough. I didn't visit the bar but seems fair prices for a theatre. Would definitely visit again if the right show was on, it was a pleasure to visit."
"Very difficult to find any close on street parking but there is a multistory available to non shoppers at Waitrose in Marmion Road, approx 8 minutes away. Directions on e tickets. The theatre itself is very imposing, standing like a flat iron building at the junction of Albert and Exmouth roads. The small triangular entrance, containing the original roof top statue, opens out from the even smaller ticket office onto an elegant staircase up to the balcony saloon. There is a cool corridor separating the bar from the auditorium that is an oasis of retreat at the interval as there is no cooling fitted within the building. Seating is quite snug giving good alround views of the equally snug stage. There appear to be very few obvious changes to the fabric of the theatre, adding to the charm of a bygone age."
"A beautiful interior, lovely grand decor and fabulous ceiling. Nice comfy seats but not the largest. Staff are very warm and friendly and pleased there is a bar. You can pre order for the interval at the bar, just ask and they are ready for you. Taxi rank right outside but it will be busy when the show is over. First time visit and would be happy to come back!"
"Obviously it depends on the show as to how much you enjoy the Kings but I can't help but fall in love with it everytime I go. Yes the seats are small and can make being comfortable difficult especially in a sold out auditorium but it's designed in such a way that it feels very intimate even when you're on upper levels. The stairs going up can be hard so keep that in mind when buying tickets. Staff are amazing and very knowledgeable. Till next time ..."
