Reviews of Aldwych Theatre
"Good theatre, went to see Tina Turner which was fun. The sound quality was not the greatest though, I felt the vocals were not emphasised enough, especially in key moments or when some of the classics were performed...it did not do the actors any justice. Visuals, lighting and wardrobe were all fantastic, along with the performance as a whole."
"At the time of visiting we saw Tina - Tina Turner The Musical. We had fantastic seats in the stalls with extra leg room. The theatre was packed, on one of the hottest days during the August heatwave, though it did not feel hot and claustrophobic in there. The theatre was clean and the ushers were always on hand should they be needed. Would definitely visit here again - and would highly recommend the show - totally amazing seeing the story of Tina's life."
"Just stunning. Came here to watch Tina (which is a fantastic show in itself with great singers), but was mesmerized by how beautiful the theatre was! Bathrooms were nice and clean. The bar was affordable and wasn’t a long queue. My only negative comment is that once The second act starts, it gets really warm in the theatre. Not sure if aircon was working or they just didn’t want to turn it on? Either way, I don’t regret seeing the show. I just hope they make it a comfortable and inviting environment for all."
"Beautiful vintage Theatre in London. Architecture outside and inside is wonderful. Modern theatres are good, Aldwych adds to the show experience, steeped in history. Vintage but some modern facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Saw 'Tina'. Wow, if you like Tina Turner this is the show to watch. Lead singer is amazing, excellent vocal range up there with Tina herself. Not many artists I imagine could play Tina. The lead certainly pays tribute to a legend. Cast and musicians were equally as good. High energy and emotive portrayal of Tina's life, including the domestic violence. Well done to the team for the performance."
"Lovely old theatre, the decoration is beautifully. Quite spacious great seats. I went to see Tina Turner brilliant from start to finish.Great evening worth seeing. Bar and toilet, you have easy access."
