"I took my cat for an initial assessment/consultation. Vet spent 60 seconds (generous estimate) doing basic checks. Paid £42.60 for the visit and was told its most likely a dental problem - further investigation would be needed when the cat is sedated. Shortly subsequent to this, I noticed a discharge from her ear that I had not noticed before the consultation and that her ear was causing her pain when I tried to inspect more closely. I explicitly told the vet she had no problem eating so I was unconvinced that it was a dental issue. I'm not a vet, but I think that ear discharge needed to be noticed with perhaps 20 more seconds of consultation time included in the £42.60, and a tentative diagnosis made. They seemed far too keen to have my cat booked in for sedation that on its own has been estimated at about £200. Very disappointed."
"The vet himself - Dexter is a good vet. Supportive and takes time. The nurse however can be particularly rude and judgmental. She is who you’ll speak to most of the time. She does not try to understand the owner, makes her own calls on what’s right and what’s wrong despite specialists believing differently. I’ve never felt so helpless and actually not calling my vet when I most needed it - purely because of the nurse. Just one nurse - that believes she is a vet. My dog had a serious orthopaedic surgery requiring 6-8 weeks confinement. I’ll be moving away from the practice as soon as my contract expires."
"Ive been using this vets for a few years, and i find the reception staff very friendly and helpful. I did not find the vet friendly with my dog and as a result my dog was very anxious. Im sure the vet knows his stuff but our pets also want to be spoken to in a friendly way with care and dignity and not just another dog through the door."
"Been using these guys for the last few years and can honestly say can't fault them. Pleasant staff and Dexter is really kind and caring to my Springer Spanial"
"Wonderful, look after my Cocker and cavalier really well. Always get them in asap and I find Dexter to be friendly, very professional and knowledgable. The nurses are just amazing! I found that everyone always had the time to talk to me and give me advice. I take the dogs there to visit so that they aren't scared to go and they make a fuss of them and make us feel welcomed. My dogs are like my children and I trust them to do what's best, they also put through all of my claim forms for me without delay. I'm very scatty and they know this, one of the receptionists actually sends me texts to remind me of things like flea treatments (I pay per month so it's not like she is doing this to get extra money out of me, it's out of good customer service)."
