Reviews of Tea Cosy
"Informed the waiter/proprietor? that we were a party of 13 and could he accommodate us. His answer was a sharp yes. On some of us sitting down he raised his voice and informed us that we could not sit there. On ordering he informed us he was on his own and that we would have to give him time....we appreciated this as we are all in our 70s. I ordered the Capachino which was awful. I informed the waiter? of this. His reply was its £3.30. I paid for something I never had. On speaking to him and in my view opinion he had had to much to drink the night before due to his high colour and boozy breath. This may have? Contributed to his I'll manners. We wont be returning."
"A really lovely little cafe! We live local and for a change, gave up trying to get lunch in the venues on the high street and took a detour to the Minster. Luckily, we passed this little place and decided to give it a try for light bites and tea. The sandwiches and baguettes were fresh and tasty, and the tea was good (Yorkshire and also lemon tea). The whole place has a cute, oldy-worldy vibe and just felt humble and friendly. The staff were eager to help and overall the service was great. We will definitely be returning soon!"
"A gem of a divine cafe that’s close to the Minster and should be a place residents and visitors to Beverley should NOT miss. The cakes look divine, the kitchen is pristine as is the ladies toilet!! We sat in the garden- it was such a lovely summery day though it was late March. The conservatory is comfortable and welcoming and the main cafe has added interest by the lovely selection of photos. The staff go the extra mile too and though iced coffee was not on the menu a glass was made without complaint. Do go and try this charming little place."
"If your ever visiting the Minster in Beverley then check out this establishment for a cuppa or a bite to eat,Tucked out the way located on the street opposite the Minster main doors .Through the entrance you'll find the dinning room old worldy style with its dark wooden panels & a more modern style down the side through to the rear & outside seating area. The staff on duty were very welcoming & pleasant, there's a good range of hot & cold drinks and nice choice of food options on the menu along with cakes on display .Payment can be made by cash or card. The only worrying problem I could see is the place is up for sale (due to retirement).... . I would definitely recommend a visit to this quiet out of the way "cosy "location"
