Reviews of Baffled Coffee
"Lovely little coffee place, little snug on the seating but food is gorgeous and menu is varied. Cakes are the best thing here though so take away is also a must!!! Could recommend it more."
"The mushroom benedict was amazing, pity its just a temporary item on the menu - please make this a staple!"
"I cannot fault the staff. They were very friendly. The food was good however I can't say it was anything special.. especially not for the price I paid. £10 got me a full English with 2 eggs 2 sausages 2 tomatoes 3 bacon some wedges and mushrooms. The food was good in taste and quality and came out piping hot. I had to pay £3 extra for a cup full of their "baffled spicy beans" and again they were nothing special. To be fair if you're going to brand beans in that way I feel they should be included in the breakfast and not as an extra. The hot chocolate I ordered was creamy and tasty as well but at £4 for a large, I've had better for less. All in all the food as a whole was good but considering the cafe has so much competition close by that offers similar quality for less, it's baffling (see what I did there) why they would have such steep prices and nothing unique to show for it. Finally I'd like to talk about the decor. The lighting is very dim which does make the place feel cozy but with the plasterboard covered counters and the 2oodennfloor board, it kind of feels like it's a place that is only half finished.. Seating in the cafe is quite cozy and not in a good way. To one side is a long bench that covers the full wall with tables lined up covering the distance and a stool on the other side of each table. If you're going in for a quiet priv as the conversation forget it because as more people come in they are sitting right next to you with no separation at all... I get they are limited on space and have had 5o make do but when I'm eating I don't particularly want someone else's back side squeezing between the table to get onto the bench. All in all I'll give 4 out of 5 for food but I'll knock off 1 star for the price and I'll give 3 out of 5 for the actual look and feel of the cafe."
"Despite the name, this is not just a coffee shop. I've tried several of their delicious sandwiches, both hot and cold, over the last couple of months and then yesterday, a group of us tried their chicken salad (with separate, super tasty dressing), roast vegetable salad and, for pudding, triple chocolate brownies - they were all absolutely superb. I'd definitely recommend a visit."
