"I wanted to continue loving this place but just can’t as it was unfortunately disappointing. Waited 20 mins (with only 2 other tables in restaurant) to be asked for drinks order then another 15 to be asked for food order. The eggplant parmigiana was pricey at £18 but I love this dish so went for it anyway. I only ate two forkfuls as when you cut into it there was a layer of oil that floated to the top. The aubergine hadn’t been drained enough so I left it. On collecting the dishes the waitress asked if we enjoyed it and I said as kindly as I could there was too much oil so I couldn’t eat it. And not enough tomato sauce. She just took the plates and said nothing! Having had such a bad main course I said no to a dessert but one of the party did order tiramisu. I tried it and it was ok but made with cream not mascarpone. I was so hungry after eating nothing i ordered a garlic bread! Nothing knocked off the bill for the dish I left nor any comments. Sadly, we won’t be back and I won’t recommend to others based on our experience overall. When you pay these prices you expect a bit more both service wise and quality of food. Update: people can see from my multiple reviews I visit restaurants far and wide and review. Search for Jayne Wilson at 18.15. My cousin made the booking for me. Our bill was just over £100 for 3 of us. We split £40/£40/£20. Here is my receipt. To improve in life it’s important to accept feedback both positive and negative"
"Really disappointing experience. Have always loved Gusto and the high quality service and food, unfortunately this hasn’t translated into the new ownership. It’s the exact same menu as the previous owners however both dishes we ordered were not even at an edible standard - one being completely Really disappointing experience. Have always loved Gusto and the high quality service and food, unfortunately this hasn’t translated into the new ownership. It’s the exact same menu as the previous owners however both dishes we ordered were not even at an edible standard - one being completely unseasoned and one being ridiculously oily. We ordered a starter which was brought out an 1hr15 later with the main so didn’t get to try that. The waitresses were lovely but completely rushed off their feet so the entire experience had a very hectic feel. Of all the years visiting Gusto, it’s really sad to leave the restaurant hungry."
"First time eating here and it didn’t disappoint. We didn’t have a booking but luckily due to a cancellation the server found us a table, really accommodating welcoming gent. Lovely warm atmosphere felt like me and my partner were on holiday. Beautiful wine & rich flavours. All staff were really friendly and checked on us regularly. One of my favourite meals in Hull in a long time."
"Fantastic restaurant. It definitely lived up to all of the good things I have heard about this place. The staff are fantastic as is the food and drinks. It was quiet and cozy yet still had great atmosphere. We will definitely be back !"
"Absolutely faultless. We have two young kids and they accommodated them better than well. I can’t begin to say how good the food was! Just a lovely place to eat authentic Italian food And the staff were brilliant!!"
